BLACK MARRIAGE DAY

Nisa Muhammad, Founder

Black Marriage Day is an annual celebration dedicated to honoring and promoting strong, healthy marriages within the Black community. It was founded in 2003 by Nisa Muhammad, who also established the Wedded Bliss Foundation to support Black couples and families. The day is observed in the month of March each year, with events held across the U.S. to encourage commitment, love, and stability in relationships. It started with just 30 communities participating but has since grown to over 300 communities. Celebrations often include vow renewals, workshops and community gatherings that highlight the importance of marriage in building strong families and communities.
